Recognizing a Great Organization, the Fisher House Foundation, on Memorial Day

As we honor the lives of those who have served our country today on Memorial Day, it seems fitting to share some information about the Fisher House Foundation.  The Fisher House Foundation provides houses/rooms free for qualifying members of the military and Department of Veterans Affairs.  This includes families at all Army, Navy, and Air Force branches of the military.

The Fisher House Foundation provides a much needed service to provide the housing/rooms for military families because the government only pays a portion of the costs.

The homes provided for the families are paid for by the Fisher House Foundation, which engages in the local community for fundraising and awareness.

Fisher Homes are especially important for military families who have someone needing medical care and a place to stay while it is being administered.  Fisher Houses are located in close proximity to medical facilities that provide services to members of the military.  In fact, most houses are close enough to a hospital that transportation may not be needed.

There are even volunteer groups who provide meals for the house.

This great foundation has served more than 455,000 United States military families since its inception.
