The Season for Giving & Trends for the End of 2022

As we approach the holidays, there is always a push by organizations to ask for charitable contributions.  December is the month when a majority portion of all charitable donations are made.

It likely falls this way because donors are feeling more charitable around the holidays, but there are also tax benefits.  Despite the reason, organizations are eager for the December donations.

As the economy has seen inflation and a bear market, the forecast for giving in 2022 is strong here at the end of the year.  “Many donors plan to increase their year-end donations to counter inflation’s effects on their favorite charities,” according to ThinkAdvisor.com.

There has been an increase giving trend of around 4% compared to 2020 according to Wallethub.

Charitable giving increased by 4% in 2021 compared to 2020, with Americans giving a staggering $484.85 billion total, according to WalletHub. Two-thirds of that was from individual donors.

Some of the organizations that are the trendiest to give to are ones for environmental protection, community development, child abuse prevention, animal welfare, veterans, ending homelessness, disaster relief, and hunger relief.
