Take Stock in Children Mentoring Begins in September

It’s back to school time and for Mercy Lab Foundation, that means several of our partners will be working with students again after breaking for the summer.  Our partners at Take Stock in Children have been in school for a few weeks, but the mentors for the program will begin meeting with their students this month.

As a mentor with Take Stock in Children, we will be required to meet with our assigned students about every other week for 30 mins.  We will encourage our students to maintain academic standards, and remain drug/crime-free, and will help them pursue their future goals.

The reward for fulfilling these commitments is a scholarship to a Florida state college, university, or technical college to continue their educational training.

The impact from mentoring is likely to impact lives in a very positive way.  Take Stock in Children has a 97% high school graduation rate, 90% college enrollment rate, and 72% college graduation rate.
