Red Nose Day Raises Awareness and Money to Fight Childhood Poverty

On Thursday, May 30, 2024, Red Nose Day will ramp up as its purpose is to fight childhood poverty.  This will be the 10th year for the charity, and it is hoping to draw donations as it continues to bring awareness to the real issue of underserved American children.

Red Nose Day raised over $370 million in 2022 to provide food for food shelters, fund local health workers, and assisted with other poverty focused charities.

This year, Red Nose Day will provide a chance of entry for a “Childhood Dreamstakes” which includes prizes like a giant cookie, candy castle, hot air balloon ride, and a trip to see a real penguin.

Some of the celebrity partners for Red Nose Day include John Legend, Chance the Rapper, Reba McIntyre, and Dan + Shay.

The Red Nose Day started a decade ago by using a physical red nose to wear which was distributed at Walgreens.  For this year, there will be interactive filters to use instead.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation provides a large backing for this cause.
