Nonprofit Helps Pre-K Kids Prepare for Kindergarten

Nearly half of the four year olds (preschool aged kids) in America have no options for public-funded early education.  The total number is estimated to be around 2.2 million kids.

A Wisconsin-based nonprofit called Waterford Upstart has found an applicable solution and is helping to ensure that the kids enrolled in their program will be prepared for kindergarten.

This program is available at no cost to the families and anyone who has a pre-K child can benefit.

In Oak Creek, Wisconsin, 750 kids took part in the Waterford.org school readiness program for FREE!

The nonprofit provided the students enrolled with a free laptop, mentoring, and online classes at no cost.

The kids who participate in the program are able to get a head start to be prepared for kindergarten.

The state funded $500K and the nonprofit Waterford.org matched the other $500K.  That completely covered the cost for 750 pre-K students.

Waterford.org isn’t only in Wisconsin, but there are many other states that have this program.  You can check the website for more details.

There are also sponsorships available on the website.  Sponsoring a child could change the trajectory of his or her life.  This is a program worth knowing about.
