Dolly Parton’s Foundation Gives Books to Kids at the Illinois State Fair

The Illinois State Fair has announced a collaboration with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to enhance early childhood literacy by gifting books to young children.

The project collaboration will give out books to children from birth to age 5 that will be free, of good quality, and age appropriate.  All income brackets will receive the free books.

The Illinois State Fair will invite families to participate each day in a story time session that will take place at the Sensory Station at the Emmerson Building during the time of the Fair.

Everyone will be encouraged to attend the story time learn more about the organization’s contributions to literacy, music, and creativity.

Dolly Parton’s Foundation is called the Dollywood Foundation and was founded in 1988.  It supports the Imagination Library Program and is the world’s leading early childhood book-gifting program.  Over three million books have been gifted since its founding.
