Toys for Tots is a national charitable program run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, founded in 1947 with the mission to collect new, unwrapped toys and distribute them to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas.
The program’s primary goal is to deliver a message of hope and provide a tangible sign that the community cares, often expanding its support beyond the holiday season with initiatives like literacy and disaster response programs. Operating through local campaigns across all 50 states, the effort relies heavily on the dedication of Marines, veterans, and local volunteers who work to ensure that every child, particularly those from low-income families, can experience the joy of receiving a new toy.
The most traditional way to support this organization is by dropping off a physical toy. You can find a local drop-off location at a retail store, bank, or fire department. They will have a labeled collection box.
The toys have to be unwrapped and new. You can also make financial donations online or send a check by mail.
