World Central Kitchen’s (WCK) is a nonprofit organization that has really been stepping up to help first responders and families who have been affected by the wildfires affecting the LA area. Different WCK teams have been mobilized across the region to provide immediate relief. They are working with restaurant and food truck partners to provide meals for people who need them the most.
The Palisades, Hurst, and Eaton wildfires have forced approximately 30,000 residents to evacuate from areas like Pacific Palisades. The fires have consumed thousands of acres and threatened tens of thousands of structures. Power outages have affected hundreds of thousands of people.
WCK teams have mobilized across Southern California to support anyone in need. This organization has served more than 200,000 meals to date.
WCK has helped firefighters by providing food trucks and distributing meals. It sets up meals to be given at places like gas stations and stadiums.
The World Central Kitchen continues to post on their website the places where they will be to distribute food.
Thank you, World Central Kitchen, for being there for the families and first responders who have been affected by the fires.
